I hope everyone had an amazing 4th of July! We had a great time spent with family and friends!
Our town has their fireworks on the 3rd and we always try to watch them from a friend's house. What are fireworks without friends? Nothing puts you in the perfect Summer mood than a good cookout! Smoked pork, hot dogs, pasta salad, deserts...everything to make you gain a few Summer pounds.
Here in Ohio it has been unseasonably wet and cold. Blech! We have spent more days in jeans and sweatshirts than swimsuits and flip flops! At least the jeans and sweatshirts keep you nice and cozy while keeping the stupid mosquitoes off of you.
Anyways, the fireworks were spectacular as always. The grand finale was so big and bright that I literally could not watch them. Even with eyes closed, I could still pretty much see all of the bursts!
Then, on the 4th, we hung out at my Mom's house shooting paintball and airsoft guns. I have two boys and I can promise you that adding in any type of gun makes it a good day!
Look at this picture! Isn't this a perfect 4th of July celebration? Smore's and Campfire! Heavenly!
I hope you all had a great 4th as well!

Garage Sale Kick-Off
Well, Saturday was the Garage Sale kick-of weekend for our part of Ohio. Our local Christian Clearing house always has a HUGE garage sale and this somewhat kicks off the garage sale season.
For the first time ever, my youngest and I went at the opening. Now I know why I never go then! I could equate it to Black Friday, but the deals are even better, which means more blood in the water for sharks! Ha!
We got there 30 minutes beforehand and there were roughly 100 people waiting in line. It has been a looooong, cooooold, Winter and people were ready hungry for $0.25 bargains!
I forgot to take pictures of the craziness, but I'm pretty sure they need to put up signs at the entrance warning people who have claustrophobia!
Here are some of the beauties that I got!

This is a Strawberry Cream and Sugar set. It is stamped with Japan on the bottom and has two sets salt and pepper shakers that hang from the adorable green metal stand. I love this set, but it has already moved on to its new home! I'm sure the new owners will treasure it!
Just LOOK at this tin! How amazing is this?!? It is an Ohio Art tin that is PERFECT for Christmas! Outside of the word, "Sweets", this tin is in great condition for it age. The only thing that would have made this any better is some of the recipes!
Even though we got some really cool things, I'm pretty sure my son will never, ever go back to this sale. It is pretty intense and he is still a garage sale novice. I'll give a few years reprieve!

Treasures
On Tuesdays, I post some of the treasures that are for sale in my Etsy shop. I'm a hugely visual person, so I love it when people post pictures! Enjoy!
Have a terrific Tuesday!

Monday Musings
I hope everyone had an amazing weekend! I had a good time with my two boys. On Saturday, I got some good one on one with my oldest, who is 12, followed by some quality time at a flea market with my youngest, who is 11.
My oldest is a huge sports fanatic, mainly soccer. It is killing him right now because the weather is finally starting to warm up in freezing Ohio. The snow is melting, the soccer goal is up and he is stuck on the sidelines with a hip injury. He is miserable! We find out today if the cartilage is torn or if it is just simply inflamed. Prayers are appreciated, as a tear means surgery. :(
One of the highlights of the weekend, was hitting the first flea market of the year with my youngest! He is a lover of a good deal, just like his Momma! He is my Karate Kid, Padawan and I am his Mr. Miyagi, Yoda.
"Find good deals you must!"
"Deals on, wallet out. Deals on, wallet out."
Ahhhh....the joys of seeing him find an awesome deal! He was so excited to find a snowboard for his brother! Even though the snow is leaving us...Thank goodness!...we have to be ready for next year. Who can turn down a $3 snowboard? Not us!
I found some Pyrex, Fire King, and Glasbake. The Pyrex will look perfect for my Spring decor as it is a turquoise with brown speckled lid (which I don't think actually belongs to it, but looks nice). I also have a BIG pink bowl, but that is gonna need some lovin' before it can go up on the shelf!
The best find of the day was an entire box full of cross stitch patterns! There are easily over 200 patterns from designers such as, Lizzie Kate, Carriage House Samplings, Bent Creek, Goode Huswife, Hand to Work. Guess how much I paid for them? Seriously, you will never guess.
$10
Can you believe that?!?!
When I asked about how much the patterns were, the gentleman said that $0.25 a piece or 5 for a $1. I tried to even hold my excitement in at that price and then he threw out, "$10 for the whole box."
What?!? Did that just happen?!?
I don't think I have ever gotten my money out quicker than that moment! I may or may not have shrieked for joy!
It was a great weekend and I hope all of yours was just as great!

Hello and welcome to my blog!
I love, love, love me some good ol' auctions. I went to my first one in November and instantly, I was hooked! Needless to say, my house and storage unit started to fill up with some pretty amazing vintage treasures. From Milk Glass to vintage Christmas, I was collecting it all. That was when my husband told me I needed to figure something out before we were run out of house and home with beauties of the past.
Enter Etsy! I realized that I could still find, see and feel all of these pieces of history. Then, best of all, I could find their forever home! I could share that hand embroidered tea towel with someone who would dream of its past just as much as I did!
Here are some pics of my latest finds!
Just look at these adorable salt and pepper sets! Aren't they perfect for Spring?!?
The first set is stamped with Occupied Japan and the second set is just stamped as Japan.
Let me tell you something about myself. A little secret, maybe.... I'm cheap. Like go to auctions and snag up all of the $1 boxes because I don't pay more than $1 cheap. Now, for this set of hatching chicks, I paid $4! Unheard of for me! I just HAD to have them and they are now proudly sitting on my antique secretary's desk ready for the warmth of Spring to arrive!
Throughout the life of this blog, I hope to share all of my love for Vintage and maybe help you find something you can treasure as well!
Until next time!
